We Merge Into Play

Video, ceramics, metal

We Merge Into Play explores the self as something performed: by the body as actor, within space as stage, and through strategies of visibility and concealment through the mask.

The work starts from the idea that identity is not fixed, but continuously constructed and adjusted through movement, repetition, and role-play. It reflects on how different realities are constantly staged and shifted, from everyday life to constructed environments.

The installation takes place in a green screen film set, where reality is built, filmed, and projected within the same space. Visitors move through shifting environments that suggest changing states of perception, where constructed worlds overlap, dissolve, and reappear.

The mask functions as a threshold between these worlds. At the entrance, handmade animal masks in ceramic and metal are placed, some appearing to return the gaze. Inside the installation, life-sized projections of masked characters appear within the same set in which they were filmed. Although they share the same environment, they remain separated within their own frames.

The work moves between constructed realities and moments of exposure, where staging and presence begin to blur. It creates a temporary environment in which body, image, and space remain in constant negotiation, and where identity is never fixed but continuously performed.
